objects. It is one of the most ancient arts. Native American pottery is among the
most beautiful. Most ancient ceramics were made from clay, which was baked
to harden, then painted or carved with designs. Pottery made by people
thousands of years ago has been found intact. Today, ceramic pieces are also
made from various other materials and for a wide range of uses from art objects
to dental work.
