YángliJqCng qCng jiAngshuH píng， The blue sea of Yangliuqing is calm,
Wén láng ànshang tàgB shBng。 I can hear the sound of singing and dancing along
the river.
DDngbiAn rì chE xCbiAn yJ， The sun is rising in the east, it is raining in the west,
Dào shì wú qíng què yIu qíng。 The road is neither clear nor unclear.Note: The word 晴 (qíng) clear has the same pronunciation as the word 情 (qíng) affection,
passion, and therefore, the last line of the poem also suggests the meaning “The road is not
clear but there may be love along the way.” Yangliuqing is a historic town located in the western
part of Tianjin.
