The following list was published in the January 4, 2000, issue of The Village Voice, a free weekly newspaper
based in New York City. The list was compiled from the results of a poll administered by the editors of the
Voicein which 50 of the best- known film critics at the time were asked to list their top ten movies of all time.
Individual responses were collated, and the following list of 100 films is the result.
