as the Steadicam. Th is device, which is mounted on the operator of the
camera, is used to allow smooth movement of the camera like a dolly shot
without being limited to the wheels or tracks of a dolly. Directors can opt
for a camera style that feels unrehearsed or chaotic by using a hand-held
camera or they can choose the fl uid approach of the Steadicam.
