The 2018 EUSA Assembly took place
between April 12 and 14 at the Camilo
Jose Cela University in the Spanish capital
city of Madrid.
A EUSA Seminar was organised at the
start of proceedings which provided an
overview of university sport events in
2017, offering participants progress re-
ports for the European Universities Games
in 2018 and 2020 while also giving the
audience a chance to hear from the candi-
dates in line to host the sixth and seventh
editions of the Games in 2022 and 2024.
A number of wide-ranging topics were
discussed during the Assembly, while time
was also taken by participants to honour
the late FISU President Mr George Killian
who passed away at the end of 2017.
Following the EUSA General Assembly of
2018, members of the European Uni-
versity Sports Association attended the
FISU-EUSA Strategic Dialogue event on
April 14, gaining insight into the strategy
and vision of both FISU and EUSA, the
main cooperation fields between the two
organisations and good practices in univer-
sity sport in Europe.
At the culmination of the Dialogue, FISU
and EUSA signed a Memorandum of
Understanding between the two organisa-
tions to not only strengthen their coopera-
tion, but help further progress university
sport in Europe and in general.
