SKILLS FOR YOU(TH) THROUGH SPORT
SK4YS – Skills for You(th) through Sport – is a transnational initiative of
European sport, youth organisations and educational institutions whose aim is to raise
awareness of soft skills and competences learnt through sport and implement them
through sport-based employment programmes. It is co-funded by the
Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
The two-year awareness-raising initia-
tive, which targets young people from
disadvantaged backgrounds and those
not in employment or training, focuses on
a cross-sector approach of sport, youth,
employment and education policies.
The project, which started in 2019 and
will end in December 2020, will look to
empower sport, youth and educational
institutions by developing and delivering
sport-based employability programmes
for young people through the collection,
classification and promotion of European
good practices, made available through an
educational handbook.
The main outcome of the project will be
a good practice database and an online
handbook (educational module) which will
be developed for representatives of youth
and sport organisations, coaches, trainers
and youth leaders on topics related to
soft skills development through sport, the
contribution of sport and physical activity
to key competences and developing sport
and employability programmes for disad-
vantaged young people.
Partners of this transnational project
include European Non-Governmental
Sport Organisation (HUN), Oltalom Sport
Association (HUN), Budapest Association
for International Sports (HUN), European
Observatoire of Sport and Employment
(FRA), Cyprus Youth Council (CYP) and the
European University Sports Association
(SLO).
