Therearesomanyincredibleplaces
thathaveinspiredmyworkand
they’realldifferentandprovokingin
theirownway.I thinkthemost
meaningfulplaceshavebeenthe
regionsthatinspiremyquilt
collections:thehighdesertsof
CaliforniaandTexasfortheBalance
Collection,northernEuropeforthe
LowlandsCollectionandmost
recentlytravellingthroughThailand,
whichwilldictatemynextcollection.
Theseplacesarenotonlybeautiful,
but I’m really fascinated by the way
thelandscapeandclimateinforms
theculture,foodandarchitecture.
Eachof theseregionsaredistinct
andspecificandsomethingabout
eachoneresonateswithmeand
feelsfamiliar.It’stryingtocapture
that spirit of a place that I love.

(a colour,a pattern,anarchitectural

quilt.Sometimesthatprocessgoes
reallysmoothlyandthequiltdesign
comeseasily,buttherearesome
designsthatrequirea lotof
manipulation,manyversionsand
sometimesmanymonths before it
feels right as a quilt.
