longerstrip to the top.

overhangthecornersof thecentreblock.
Sewaºin seamandpress open. Repeat on
theother side (Fig 3).

theremaining two sides. Trim dog ears.

alongtheshortedgestomaketwo
10in x 72in border strips. Sew these strips

tothetopandbottom edges to complete

thequilttop.

QUILTINGANDFINISHING

Cutthebackingfabricin halfacross

thewidth.Removetheselvedgesand

sewthetwopiecestogetherusing a Ωin

seam.Press the seam open.

Pressthequilttopandbackingwell.

Makea quiltsandwichbyplacingthe

backingfabricrightsidedown,thebatting

ontop,thenplacethequilttoprightside

up.Baste using your preferred method.

Quiltasdesired.Stefaniequiltedstraight

linesradiatingtowardsthecentre from

all four sides. Square up the quilt.

Sewthebindingstripstogether

end-to-endusingdiagonalseams.

Pressseamsopen.Foldin halflengthways,

wrongsides together, and press.

Sewthebindingtotherightsideof

thequilt,creatinga neatmitreat each

corner.Foldthebindingovertotheback

ofthequiltandhandstitch in place around

the edge to finish.
