  1. (E) Somatoform disorders are marked by physical complaints in the absence of physical causes. A
    diagnosis of conversion disorder typically results when no organic (physical) cause can be found
    for a physical complaint such as paralysis of a limb, blindness, or deafness. Narcissistic
    personality disorder is, not surprisingly, a type of personality disorder; masochism is a paraphilia;
    generalized anxiety disorder is classified as an anxiety disorder; and psychogenic amnesia is a
    type of dissociative disorder.
