    +2. Z scores measure the distance from the mean in units of standard deviation. The percent of
    scores falling under each area of the normal curve is predetermined; there’s no way around
    memorizing it: 68 percent within one standard deviation, 95 percent within two standard
    deviations, and 99 percent within three standard deviations.
