The following symbols are used in this chapter:
Habitat The type of place where the animal is
typically found in the wild.
Life span The average maximum age of the species
in the wild, which might be different from specimens
kept in captivity. A question mark is used when
there is no data available.

Status These triangles show if the animal is
endangered, as listed on the IUCN Red List
( p. 85 for more information). A purple triangle
shows there is not enough data to assess the animal.
