for following steps. Sew a total of 29
white, dark gray, and assorted C’s to-
gether to make left side pieced border.
Make right side pieced border with
2 rows of 29 C’s each as shown and
join pieced borders to sides of quilt.
Make top pieced border with 26 C’s
and make bottom pieced border with
52 C’s as shown. Join to top and
bottom.4 Join white border strips and cut to size
shown in Assembly Diagram. Match-
ing centers and ends, sew border side
strips to quilt. Repeat to add border
top and bottom strips.
5 Make outer right side pieced border
with 68 C’s as shown. Make outer
bottom pieced border with 60 C’s as
shown. Join to right side and bottom
of quilt.6 Layer, baste, and quilt. Lynette
machine quilted a stylized gear motif
across the quilt surface. Bind the quilt.
