4 Join 2 dark blue, 1 yellow, and 1 lime

strip in order shown in Diagram IV to

make band. Make 2. Cut bands into

4½ ̋ segments as shown to make 12

unit2’sforpiecedsashes.

placement. Sew a vertical row of

blocks, Nine-Patches, and orange C’s

as shown. Join row, 4 orange 41½ ̋

strips, panel print panel, and stripe

panel together in order shown. Join

remaining orange strips and cut

2 (48½ ̋) borders; join to top and

bottom.

6 Join 6 unit 2’s as shown to make top

pieced sash. Repeat to make bottom

pieced sash and join sashes to top

and bottom of quilt.

7 Join blue print border strips and cut to

sizes shown in Assembly Diagram.

Matching centers and ends, sew bor-

der side strips to quilt. Repeat to add

border top and bottom strips.

8 Layer, baste, and quilt. Abigail machine

quilted meandering across the quilt

surface. Bind the quilt.

Cut largest patches fi rst. Measurements
include ¼ ̋ seam allowances. Border strips
will be pieced and cut to exact length
needed. You may want to make them
longer to allow for piecing variations.

total.
