Breakyarnandleavethesestitchesona stitchholder. Rejoin yarn

to the 38 sts on hold and work the second strap.

Tojointhestraps,putthestitchesfromthefirststrapbackontoa

needleandcastoffboth straps together using the three-needle

cast-offmethod.

MAKINGUP

1 Weaveinalllooseends.Block,referring to manufacturer’s

instructionsforfullcareinstructions.

2 Usingthebagpiecesastemplates,cutoutcottonfabrictomatch

thebagandstrap, allowing 1cm extra all round for the seam

allowance.

3 Machinesewthecottonfabric pieces, right sides together to

maketheliningandpress.

4 Pinthestrapliningtothestraps,wrongsidestogether,turning

theliningseamallowanceinandslipstitchinginplace.Takecareto

ensurethestitchesdon’tshowontheoutsideoftheknitting.

5 Pinthebaglining inside the bag, wrong sides together and slip

stitchinplace.

6 Add snap fasteners to the centre top of the lining side pieces.
