‘HE WAS JUST IN THE ZONE’
On July 28, the flag-draped coffin of
Representative John Lewis was placed
outside the U.S. Capitol, to accommodate the
thousands of mourners who came by to pay
their respects. Among them was Jeremiah
Harrell, 5, who stood silent at the rope line,
recalls photographer Michael A. McCoy.
“This is history,” the boy’s father told McCoy.
“This is world history. This is Black history.”
