Purpose for Listening
Tell students that this is the second time they will hear this read-aloud,
but it is different from the first time because they will do most of the
talking about plant parts and what each part does.
By the end of the lesson, student should be able to:
Identify the root, stem, leaf, flower, and seed of a plant
Explain that roots anchor the plant and take in water and nutrients
Explain that stems support the plant and carry water and nutrients to
the various parts of the plant
Explain that the plant makes its own food in its leaves
