GET

DUSTING!

Here’s extra motivation to get that feather
duster out: dust may be making you fat. A
recent study at Duke University in the US
found household dust can contain harmful
endocrine-disrupting chemicals. Scientists
collected samples of household dust from
194 homes and found that, worryingly,
even in very low concentrations, chemicals
in the samples promoted the precursor of
fat cells. Ditch the chemical household
products and try to use as little plastic as
possible, as these can also contain the
harmful chemicals. And, of course, dusting
burns calories, so keeping your house as
clean as a whistle is win-win.
