Pedal 4 Cancer
September 8, London to Cambridge


Take on this 100km classic cycling
challenge in teams of four or eight and
raise funds for a charity of your own or one
of the organiser’s partner causes. You get
to start at the iconic Lee Valley VeloPark in
Stratford, east London, and cycle at your
own pace through the country lanes of
the home counties to the finish at Nuffield
Health gym in Cambridge. There, you can
have a hot shower and steam with a free
guest pass, then book a bike transfer while
you rest up on the train home. Entries start
from £39, with £175 sponsorship to Pedal
4 Cancer Charities, or £69 to support the
charity of your choice, pedal4cancer.bike.


Regatta London

With stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) one
of the UK’s fastest growing sports of recent
years, Regatta London is sure to be a
popular fixture on the events calendar. It’s
the UK’s first mass-participation paddle
sports event, meaning you can SUP, row,
canoe or kayak 12 miles through the heart of
London. The Thames Barrier will be closed
so there will be no tides or other river traffic
to contend with. The route starts between
Hammersmith and Putney and ends at
Greenwich. Enter solo or as part of a club.
All entrants are encouraged to support the
event’s charity partners with fundraising.

Macmillan Mighty Hikes
June 8 to September 7, various locations

Put your walking boots on and get sponsored to do a one-day walking marathon –
Macmillan is holding a series of 26-mile epic hikes across the UK this summer.
Choose from eight locations, from the Jurassic Coast to the Lake District, and raise
money for people living with cancer. All routes are easily accessible, clearly marked
and there will be medical assistance and checkpoints with drinks, lunch and snacks.
A hot dinner, glass of fizz and medal awaits you at the finish. Registration is £25, plus
