recruited student is satisfied with the package and that the
institution’s objectives are met while recruiting and providing
financial aid to that student.
The awarding of financial aid to students with proven ath-
letic ability is generally awarded in four ways:
- “Full-ride” athletic scholarships—Division I and II
- Partial athletic scholarships—Division I and II and NAIA
- Combination financial aid awards, including partial ath-
letic scholarship—Division I and II and NAIA - Combination financial aid, not to include scholarships
related to athletic ability—Division III and NAIA
Please note that NCAA rule #15 requires that Division III
colleges are obliged to tell you that they do not offer athletic
scholarships. (Chapters 17, 18, and 19 reveal the truth about
this bogus assertion.)
