My Favorite President
- Have students identify the presidents on the Response Cards.
- Ask students to think about what they learned about each of these
presidents and their accomplishments. - Then have students select one of the five presidents that they admire
most. - Students should draw a picture showing what they admire most about
that president. Have students label their drawings.
➶ Above and Beyond: Have students write a sentence or two about
their drawings. - When students have completed their drawings, have them share it
with their partner or with home-language peers. Encourage them to
ask questions and make suggestions about the drawings as a way
to clarify and strengthen the message being conveyed through the
drawings.
