Celebrate!

Note: This activity takes advance preparation and coordination with

helpers and parents. You may wish to do this during the time of year

the holiday is actually celebrated.

Celebrate a cultural holiday that many of your students celebrate with
their families. You may wish to read trade books having to do with that
holiday leading up to the event. You may wish to collect items and art
related to that holiday to display around the classroom. You may wish to
play or teach a song related to that holiday. You may need to coordinate
with parents to bring in food.

Note: Be sure to check with your school’s policy regarding food

distribution and allergies.
