The cat made a plan to trick the mouse.
“Mouse,” said the cat, “I must run off for a bit.
Will you keep the house while I am out?”
The cat ran to the house next door and got out
the jar. He started licking the jam. He licked and
licked. When he stopped there was just a bit of
jam left. Then he ran back home.
