  1. In today’s story, Jumping Mouse meets a magic frog.

  2. Say the word magic with me three times.

  3. Magic is the power to make impossible things happen, like to make
    something disappear.

  4. Jada and Mario love to watch magic shows at the county fair.

  5. Tell your partner if you have seen a magic trick and describe what it
    was like. If you have never seen a magic trick, tell your partner which
    magic trick you would like to see. Use the word magic when you tell
    about it. I will call on a few students to share.


Purpose for Listening
The title of this Native American folktale is “The Story of Jumping Mouse,
Part I.” Tell students that they are going to hear about what Jumping
Mouse wants.
