Instructional Master 3A-1. Have them point out the characters of this
story—Little Billy Goat Gruff, Middle Billy Goat Gruff, Big Billy Goat
Gruff, and the troll. Have them point to the setting—the rocky area,
bridge, and grassy area.

over a bridge but have a hard time because a troll lives under the
bridge. - Say the word over with me three times. Say the word under with me
three times. - Over means above or on top of something else. Under means below
or at a lower place than something else. - The airplane flew over our school.
The river runs under the bridge. - Using the objects around you or using safe movements, show your
partner what over and under look like. Use the words over and under
while you show your partner. I will call on a few students to show us
over and under.
