iPhone Photography for Everybody:
Artistic Techniques
By Michael Fagans | Review by Peter Bauer
This book consists almost exclusively of the author’s photos and a paragraph or two
of description. Like the other eBook version of the book reviewed in this issue, the
images can be enlarged to see more detail. Unlike the other book, this one has no
information about any settings used when capturing the images. The vast majority
of the advice and “Ten Tips” sections pertain to photography in general and are
not specific to the iPhone. In fact, I found only two direct references to iPhone
photography: “Wipe your iPhone lens with a soft cloth when shooting in the rain,”
and “Travel light. Leave your bulky camera at home and learn to make the most of
your iPhone camera.” Reading this book I couldn’t decide whether to describe it as a
general photography book or simply an author’s vanity project, showing off his own
pictures. It’s definitely not a guide to using the iPhone’s camera. n
