EDITING A LANDSCAPE PHOTO
While the image we’re using here cap-
tures a nice scene, it’s not exactly eye-
catching. Equally, you’ll see in the first
step below that one of the Presets in the
Landscape category offers a one-click
solution for this photo. This is the strength
of Photo RAW.

STEP ONE: Presets can be added and faded
by clicking on the preset thumbnail, and
then using the Fade slider to adjust the
strength. Here we’ve clicked on Golden
Glow Sunshine. Job done, get paid, go
home! A very short article indeed. Not
quite there, but not bad.

STEP TWO: Actually, bar a few little things,
it’s almost done. First, we need to take
care of some dust spots. We’ll choose
Retouch in the Tool Well and paint over
them with the Spot Healing Brush to get
rid of them.

STEP THREE: Next, we’ll switch to the Devel-
op module and pull down the Highlights
slider to –62. This will darken the blue sky
above the sun, giving a nice color contrast
between it and the warmth of the sun.
