STEP SEVEN: Next we need
to convert these six layers
into smart objects; however,
if we select all the layers and
convert them all at once, it will
place all of them into a single
smart object layer. Instead,
Right-click to the right of each
layer’s thumbnail in the Layers
panel and choose Convert to
Smart Object. Do this to all the
extracted layers.

STEP EIGHT: Now you can select
all the smart object layers in the
Layers panel by clicking the top
layer, and then Shift-clicking the
Background copy layer. Press
Command-G (PC: Ctrl-G) to
place them into a new layer
group folder. Double-click the
name of the layer group and
rename it “Leaves.”
