Share music to InstagramStories
If you’re listening to a
grea t track or playlist
and you’d like your
Instagram followers
to know about it, you
can share it from
Spotify directly to
Instagram Stories.
Tap the Shar e button
in the top-right
corner (or the
thre e-dot icon if the
button isn’t visi ble)
and select Instagram
Stories from the list
of shareable options.
Grant your Spotify
app permission to
open Instagram if you
haven’t already done
so. You can apply
filters, stickers and
text,and share the post to your Stories
and friends. Tapping the SendTo button
lets you send the song to indi vidual
friends, rather than sharing it withall
your Instagram followers.
Block and avoid explicit content
A lot of songs aren ’t whatyou’d call
radio-friendly these days. If you’re
listening to music in the company of
minors, you’d no doubt rather avoid
songs that are filled with expletives.
Spotify tags songs that contain adult
language with Explicit (E on the web
player) to make them easier to av oid,
and you can block or al low this kind of
thing by going to Settings, Explicit
Content and toggling the switch on
or off. This se tting is device-specific,
so you will needto changethe same
settings on all the devices you use
Spotify on.
Spotify often has “c lean” versions of
explicit songs that it can play for you.
If you’re using the desktop app, open
the album and you may see a More
Releasesoption at the bottom. If it’s
there, select this to switch to the cleaner
version. In the mobile app, just search
for a song by name and you’ll be able
to choose if you want to play the explicit
or clean version (if there is one).Hideyour guilty pleasures
Spotify makes it easy to let people know
the sort of music you like and are
listening to, but we all have guilty
pleasureswe would rather keep secr et.
For that reason , the streaming service
has a Privat e Session feat ure which
prevents friends from finding out that
you’re a clos et Michael Bolton fan.
On Android, open Settings and select
Privat e Session; iOS users can find this
option in Settings, Social. You can
togglethe feat ure on oroff, but thesession will also automatically end when
you’ve been inactive for six hours.
For additional privacy, you can
remove entries from your Recently
Played list by tapping the thre e-dot icon
next to them and choosing Hide from
the bottom of th e menu. You can also
make a specific playlist invisi ble to
others by pressing it and choosing

nearyou?Spotify can show you which
performers are playing where and when.
Click Browse inthe desktop app and
click Concerts at the top. This will
display a list of acts who are performing
near(or relatively
near ) to your location.
You can switch to a
