To remove a setting from theWindowsSettings app using
Windows10 Settings Blocker, click the‘Addto list’ button.

(^1) From the drop-down menu, find the settingyou want
to block. Most are organisedbyoption, then submenu – so,
to remove Background from thePersonalisation options, for
example,you needto choose ‘personalization-background’.^2
3
Not all the options are organised quite so logically.
The System options, for example, don’t appear under
a ‘system’ heading. You’ll find thesetools listed under
theirown names(such as‘about’).^1
4
To temporarilyswitch an option back on,remove the tick
in the box nextto it^1 and click the ‘Save settings’ button
again.^2 To hide it again, reinsert the tick. You can also
right-click an option and choose Enable or Disable^3 to
perform the same task.
T
here’s somethinguniquely infuriating about booting up
your PC and finding someone’s switched your wallpaper,
changed your mouse sensitivity or generally
mucked aboutwith your settings. At best, you’ll have
to spendvaluable time putting everything back how
you like it: at worst, you may never find the Settings
appoption orControl Panel setting they’ve tweaked.
Windows 10 Settings Blocker is a handy portable
program that letsyou lock down all the Settings app
andControlPanel tools you want. You caneven
block access completely.The software’s
homepage has someconfusing ads, so ifyou
can’t find the authentic download button,bit.ly/
sbldl4 76 will takeyou straightto the download.
