around and tried all the

alternatives Icould find. So I’m slightly

surprised thatyou missed – or didn’t

mention – Checkvist (checkvist.com).

I’ve been usingto-do list appsfor quit e

a while now and this is without a doubt

the best I have ever come across.The

mobileversion isn’t quite as powerful but

is certainly good enough. I suggestyou

take a look because it’s a great app.

WhenWindows 10 is secure and

works well, then people should decide

if theywant to upgrade or not, buta

constant push from Microsoft and the

media is not something many people

can afford or need. It needsto stop.

It costs a fortuneto keep upgrading,

and it is not necessary inmy humble

and professional opinion – itreally

isn’t.

Motherboardrendered my
Dino PC extinct
Dave Ingram is not alone in his problems
with updating a Dino PC (Ask the Expert,
Issue475). I also have this problem and
after three differentattemptsby
Microsoft‘experts’to solve it, they came
to the conclusion that the Gigabyte
motherboard needed a BIOS update.
Gigabyte however claims that its
motherboardwas ne ver intendedto be
compatible withWindows 10 and will no
longer update the BIOS.
Whatreally annoys me is had Istuck
with Windows 7, I’d still be secure until
January 2020 and not just September

2019. Myreally old
      Dell Dimension 5100
      from around 2005
      has already been
      successfully
      upgraded. So much
      for Gigabyte’s
      customer service. Co uld aWindows 10
      update fa ilure be the newway for
      motherboard manufacturers and
      Microsoftto ensure PC obsolescence?
      I intend fitting anotherSSD and
      installing Linux onmy PC for internet
      use. Windows 10 can then be isolated for
      office-typework.
