Rebekah is raring to show off
her moves. Partnered with pro
skater Andy Buchanan, they will
be a pair to watch in the coming weeks.
But the 38-year-old admits she is no natural
and reveals how one wrong move can really
bring home the danger of being on the ice...

So, Rebekah, are you glad you
signed up for the show?
It’s the best decision I’ve ever
made. I’ve enjoyed every second of
it. Stepping out on to the ice is the
most amazing feeling. You don’t
have to worry about anything
else and it’s quite liberating.
Any injuries to report?
I’m the only person who’s injured my
pro! It was awful. We were practising
a trick and we changed it slightly, and it
went very wrong. The back of my blades
sliced his face open. I think he’s just come
to terms with the scar on his face.
That sounds horrific! Did he have to
take time off?
No, he was fine. Oddly he was concerned
about making sure he could skate the
next day. I wasn’t interested in that in
the slightest, I just wanted to make sure
he was OK. It was quite scary but it
made me realise what we’re doing is
really dangerous.

Is braving the ice more
intimidating than being
on I’m A Celeb?
Yes, 100%. The jungle is so different.
This is far more terrifying. I spend more time
upside down than I do on my feet!
Who are you hoping to impress on the
judging panel?
They’re all looking at different aspects, so
I want to impress them all. I struggle with
the performing side. It’s not my background,
so being able to put emotion with skating is
hard. But I think we’re getting there, we’re
breaking those boundaries.
Have any celeb friends been in touch?
Melody Thornton from Pussycat Dolls has

given me some really good tips. She’s been
helping me with the performance side of it
and giving me stretching exercises.
Have you been practising the lifts with
your husband, Jamie?
No, I couldn’t imagine him being any good at
something like that. My eldest daughter is the
queen of drama. I swear she’s going to be an
actress when she’s older, so I’ve been picking
up a few tips from her.
Are you in it to win it?
I have a competitive side, but I’ve tamed
the demon inside of me. I just want to see
everyone do well. Everyone brings something
special to this show, so I’m really excited to
see what everyone’s got.
