What is your
favorite part of
your job and why?
People often resist taking
on organizing projects in
their home because of how
overwhelming or inherently
emotional it can be. We
love that we’re able to help
people conquer their
clutter and breathe a
much-needed sigh of relief.
It’s very rewarding for us.
How do you
keep the
space organized?
- Your home should be no more than
80 percent full, with at least 20
percent reserved for breathing room.
Once items start spilling out of the
system you have in place, they won’t
have a home and that’s where
clutter builds. - Categorize your items with
a labeling or color-coding (ROYGBIV)
system. It’s aesthetically pleasing —
and also the key to long-term
maintenance. Since everything has a
“home,” items are easier to find, and
the system will also act as a guilt
mechanism if you try to put
something in the wrong spot.
- Set aside a time each month to check
in and make sure your system is still
working for you. Take that time to also
purge anything that isn’t necessary.

If you have a lot of stuff and
the process seems daunting,
how does one even get
started decluttering?
Start with mini-projects (like a single
drawer) and move your way up! The
knowledge and confidence you gain from a
smaller project will motivate you to tackle
the larger portions. Also, don’t start a
project when you know you can’t finish it.
It’s better to plan ahead and set aside time
for strictly organizing.
