When it debuted in the United States in

1993, the Mexican chile-lime seasoning

blend called Tajín gained a loyal following.

But now there’s an all-out Tajín craze: Sales

have tripled since 2012, and 40 percent

of those sales are in the US. The mix of

dried chiles, dehydrated lime and salt adds

zing to everything it touches—fruits and

vegetables, meat and fish, cocktail rims,

ice pops, popcorn. Chefs are incorporating

it into their menus, and it’s showing up in

grocery stores, too: Tyson has launched a

line of Tajín-infused chicken and sausage

products. The biggest endorsement of all,

though, came from Bruno Mars: He posted

a picture of mango slices covered in Tajín on

Instagram and scored more than 1 million

likes. We’re right there with you, Bruno.
