Bobby’s Picks SophiE’s Picks

A few miles from Pimlico Race Course, this former flour mill
dishes out local veggies and fresh seafood. “I always start
with the cornbread; it’s served with a side of chile pepper jam,”
says Bobby. He also loves the Chesapeake oysters, and if
he’s really hungry, the tavern steak. woodberrykitchen.com

The last race of the season takes place on Long Island, but
Bobby’s tradition is to head to Manhattan to celebrate at
this steakhouse. “I love the old-school New York ambience,
and the porterhouse, creamed spinach, German potatoes
and Key lime pie are the most delicious way to round off
the Triple Crown,” says Bobby. wolfgangssteakhouse.net

Sophie’s pick in Baltimore is a bit of a secret: a bar located
behind an unmarked door in the Harbor East neighborhood.
Inside you’ll find cocktails literally on fire (pyrotechnics and liquid
nitrogen are big here), paired with snacks like fondue. “It’s the
perfect place for a nightcap,” says Sophie. theelkroom.com

After a big meal with her dad, Sophie likes to go dancing
at this chic cocktail bar in the 11 Howard hotel that turns
into a club after 10 p.m. If you’re interested in a more
low-key experience, stop by earlier, grab a seat on a velvet
banquette and nibble on French bites from the hotel’s
renowned Le Coucou. 11howard.com/the-blond

“When I’m in Louisville, I’m excited for two things: mint juleps
and ceviche from chef Anthony Lamas,” says Bobby. His
top choice at this beloved Latin-Southern restaurant is the
lobster with ají amarillo and sweet potatoes. “It’s perfectly
spicy, light and refreshing.” sevicherestaurant.com

Once all the racing festivities are over, Sophie heads
to this cozy 1920s-themed spot for late-night bowling.
Note, it’s not easy to find: The entrance is tucked behind
a painting in the lobby of the Omni Louisville Hotel.
