One Last Thing...

Cartoonist Liz Montague shares some advice
on how to handle a virtual holiday dinner.

Thanksgiving is especially
meaningful for Liz Montague:
Last year she was en route to see

would appear in The New Yorker—a cartoonist’s
dream. “I emailed them saying they should feature
more Black cartoonists, and they agreed,” she says.

Her sketches were already a hit on Instagram
(@lizatlarge) with Sunny and many others, but
since the magazine’s publication, she has become
even more famous for her work addressing race,
current events and general frustrations about the
state of the world. “I like drawing about everyday
feelings,” she says. “And because of the body
I experience them in, it’s like a bridge for people.”
