FOUNDER, THE CORCORAN GROUP

Giving doesn’t end with your
neighbors, it also includes
our four-legged friends. I’m
proud to have joined the
Clear the Shelters
initiative, which has
found forever homes
for close to half
a million animals.”

I’m a spokesperson
for Dining Out for
Life, a campaign that
raises money for
HIV and AIDS
organizations across
the country.”

I do a live show called
Adulting with my friend
Jordan Carlos, and we donate
part of the proceeds from every
show to an organization.
For Pride Month, we
gave to the Trevor
Project, and we’ve
also given to the
ACLU and Planned
Parenthood.”

My way of giving back
has always
been through food,
whether it’s
feeding friends or
volunteering to
serve strangers.”

One of my greatest joys
is empowering kids to
eat well and develop healthy
habits, so I volunteer
giving talks and
cooking classes
to kids of all ages.”

When Covid-19 hit South
Africa, my country’s restaurant
and food industry was
brought to its knees.
I support the Restaurant
Relief Fund, which
helps restaurants
pay employees and
stay open.”

My husband Nick and
I hope that every child
can have opportunities like
we did, so we give to Midwest
Young Artists Conservatory;
Northern Valley Youth
Orchestras (our local
youth orchestra);
and the Empire
Arts Center (our
local theater).”

I’m proud to be
the chairman of
City Harvest’s Food Council.
City Harvest helps nearly
2 million NYC residents
who struggle to put
meals on the table.”

After the onset of Covid-19, my
husband Vivek and I partnered
with our food vendors in Nashville to
provide food to people in need. We
also created two specialty beers
with our brewery, Hop Springs,
with a percentage of
sales going to support
Hospitality Strong, an
organization we founded
to help workers in the
hospitality industry.”

I was labeled ‘the
dumb kid’ in school
because I had dyslexia
and couldn’t learn to
read. Now I give back to
organizations such
as the Child Mind
Institute to help
empower kids
like me so they
know that
they can
achieve
greatness.”

I’ve been particularly
interested in No Kid Hungry,
a campaign developed by the
hunger-relief organization Share Our
Strength. As a chef, it makes sense
to me to target the issues of
hunger, food education and
nutrition for our children.
The earlier we can start a
generational change,
the better.”

Sunny’s friends show their gratitude this year by giving back.
We hope these acts of kindness will inspire you, too!
