Pick your pasta. Make a
few kinds and toss with a
little olive oil after cooking
to prevent sticking.

Put out sauces
and mix-ins and let
everyone create
their own combo.

Turn a jar of marinara
sauce into two options:
herby and creamy. Heat
the sauce in two pans; add
chopped fresh basil and
parsley to one and add
heavy cream to the other.

TOASTED BREADCRUMBS
Cook ¼ cup breadcrumbs in
2 tablespoons olive oil in a small
skillet over medium heat until
golden, 4 to 5 minutes; season
with salt and pepper.

RICOTTA
Dollop plain ricotta
on top of the pasta or
mix it with pesto.

PESTO
Use it as a topping instead
of a sauce—you can drizzle
it over everything!

Try one or all three of these over the sauce.

SAUSAGE CRUMBLES
Cook bulk sausage in olive oil
in a skillet over medium-high
heat, breaking up the meat,
until browned, about
5 minutes. Season with salt;
drain on paper towels.

MEATBALLS
These are precooked—
just heat them up as
the label directs.

Prep some mix-ins to beef up your sauce.

Toss together a
Caesar salad and
pile it on top of
the pasta for a
one-bowl dinner!

SAUTÉED SHRIMP
Cook shrimp in olive oil
in a skillet over medium
heat, turning once, until
just cooked through, 2 to
3 minutes. Season with
salt and pepper.

Don’t forget
the toppings—
they make
the dish!

Put a salad on it!
