year of textile design I started
printing on glass, putting patterns
onto it. Afterwards, I worked for
a while in the glass industry, selling to interior designers, but
it wasn’t creative enough, so I set up by myself. I’m a laminated
designer, which is quite niche – it involves bonding two pieces
of glass together, but you can
choose what you put between
them and I decided on florals.
MY INSPIRATION I like British
flowers – ones that have
structure such as lupins and
foxtail lilies... Showstoppers.
The colour palettes come fromhappyaccidents.Outsidemy
studio in Derby is a blue shipping container and in summer the
flowers in my garden are off-set against it – pure orange with
blue is one combination I filed away. I love designing, whether
it’s splashbacks or glasses, and I’m doing the Chelsea Flower
Show this year, which is wonderful. My design is under wraps
but let’s say it’s centred around cooking and growing your own...
