LAMB AT EASTER?

The article by Clare Finney on

the best time to buy lamb [Mar,

p146] was educational. I’d heard

of hogget but have never come

across it in the supermarkets. I try

to be as environmentally friendly as

possible, so I buy anything I believe

helps with animal welfare. From

now on I’ll try to buy hogget in

future, from a reputable online

butcher. I hope many others are

inspired by this article (including

buyers for the supermarkets). Well

done, Clare, for educating us.

THE MAGIC POT

I was over the moon to see you recommend

the Instant Pot in the February issue [p96], as

well as providing slow cooker recipes. I’m not

one for pointless kitchen gadgets and my

husband was sceptical about this purchase,

but the pot has revolutionised my life. As

a full-time doctor and mother of two children

under five, nutritious, tasty, speedy meals are

essential, and this machine permits all that

with the added factor of convenience.

In addition, the gadget is enabling us

to be more eco-friendly by making our own

natural yogurt, thus reducing our single-use

plastic. Casseroles, soups, roast chicken,

porridge, the BEST rice pudding and even

the Christmas ham have all been so easy.

What’s more, the day the February issue of

delicious. dropped through the letterbox

was the day my induction hob broke down,

so the timing couldn’t have been better.
