Anything – just the novelty of
not having to cook would be
enough for me!

I’m looking
forward to
walking to my
nearest bakery-
cum-café with
my laptop,
ordering a breakfast of
croissants and lengths of
baguette and jam, then
settling down to some work
in a world I took slightly
for granted.

I’m dreaming of heading
to our Edinburgh gastropub,
The Scran & Scallie, with dear
friends and all the kids for
a Sunday meal. I’m really
missingthe‘ham,eggand
chips’ dish just now. CHEF TOM KITCHIN

As soon as we regain our freedom,
I want to fly to New York and eat at
I Sodi – the most incredible Italian
restaurant. Dinner there three years
ago was some of the best food I’ve
ever had. The artichoke and
rosemary lasagne was incredible – it forced
me to fall silent for the entire meal.
JOHN WHAITE, JOHN WHAITE’S KITCHEN, LANCASHIRE

I’d be
lying if
I said the
meal I was
looking
forward
to most
would be
anywhere
other than
The Ritz. I’ve been dreaming of
sitting in that dining room and
being spoiled with course after
course of fabulous food, with
champagne. It’s the thought
that’s getting me through.

A big roast
dinner with my
children and
grandchildren.
Cocktails first,
roast beef with
all the trimmings, including
Yorkshires (there will be flour
again!) and then dessert – apple
crumble with a zillion different
ice creams. LENNIE WARE, PODCASTER

I really can’twaittog
for dim sum again.

1

Fish and chips, piping hot and
doused in salt and vinegar (vinegar
first for the cognoscenti), eaten straight
from the paper on a pebble beach.

2

The Sunday pub roast with all the
trimmings that awaits at the end
of a long, blustery countryside walk
(passing close by to strangers and
saying hello!).

3

Towering baskets of steaming dim
sum dumplings, unveiled at the
table to a chorus of “oohs”.

4

Ordering far too many tapas on
a balmy summer’s evening (and
polishing them all off).

5

Piles of glistening fresh pasta,
eaten with abandon over somebody
