beenpullingtogetherina remarkableway.I’ve

neverknowna timewhenwe’vehadtoadjust

mentallyandphysicallytosomanychallenges,

sofast.I applaudthepeopleworkingtosupport

frontlineworkersandthoseinneed:seep22for

threelife-enhancingstories.AndI applaudthechefsandcelebrities

usingsocialmediatoinspirethenationtocookaswehaven’tcooked

fordecades(whoknewGaryLinekerwasa dabhandinthekitchen?).

That’swheredelicious.comesintoitsown,too.Severalofyouhave

toldmeyouseeourmagazineandwebsiteasthefoodequivalentof

publicservicebroadcasting.Adjustingtoworkingfromhomehasbeen

a challenge,asithasforsomanyofyou.Wecan’tdophotoshoots,for

obviousreasons(thoseinthisissuewereshotwellahead– a blessing).

ButI hopeyou’llbearwithusoverthecomingmonthsasweapproach

thingsdifferentlyanddoourbesttocontinuepublishinga magazine

thatgivesyoualltheinspirationyouneed– bothrecipesandthose

hallmarkdelicious.storiesyou’vecometoexpectandlove.

Earlyon,I realisedthatgivingtheweekshapeandstructurewas

crucialtoavoidthedaysmergingintoone(whoknowswhatweekitis

anymore?).TheSundayroast(p112),eveniftherearefewerpeople

aroundyourtable,markstheendoftheweekandsomehowfeelsmore

importantthanever;ourregularmovie-nightfeature(p108)isan

opportunityforhunkering-downescapism;andourholiday-at-home

menu(p114)bringstomindtripswe’velovedandthosewelongfor.

We’veeachdonea lotoflifereassessing,haven’twe?Asa friendsaid

lastweek,havinglostallhisfreelancework,“Althoughtimesaretough,

I’mfocusingonwhat’simportantinlife:familyandfriends.”I would

addtothata focusonsimplepleasures–andcookingmore.Wishing

youwonderfulcookingandbettertimes,fromeveryoneatdelicious.
