I love the delicious. health section.
In an age of a deluge of questionable
‘wisdom’ as to the importance of
showering in coconut oil etc, it’s
reassuring to read the myth-busting
words of your experts. And they’re
right – it’s silly to berate oneself in
such trying times over a few extra
pounds. I’ll savour my active lifestyle
all the more when normality returns.
The extra jiggle around my waist
alludes to my improved culinary skill.
So, every cloud... Soufflé, anybody?

is my treat on
a Saturday
morning and it helps me get into
weekend mode. I was delighted to
find a recipe from Delia Smith for
strawberry pavlova in July [p17].
This holds strong memories of my
granny as she’d always make one
when we visited, and my sister and
I were talking about it recently. I’ve
never made a pavlova but when I saw
the recipe I was inspired to give it
a go, as my sister was coming to
visit. Every spoonful brought back
such special memories. Thank you.

recipe [p66] with her own
variations. “The recipe
is so versatile – I had
a punnet of blueberries
that needed using,
which I swapped for the
blackberries; I also had no
coconut yogurt so I used
greek yogurt, and no lemon
curd so I made a simple
lemon icing – and
it still tasted great.”
