JULY/MASTERCHEF

Cooking may not get any tougher
than whipping up dishes for John
Torode and Gregg Wallace on
BBC One’s perennially popular
MasterChef, but is there a secret to
making a winning dish? The list
below reveals the top 10 most
commonly used ingredients in
MasterChef UK’s winning dishes.
The top ingredient? Chocolate (no
surprise there), which featured in
18 per cent of the winning recipes in
the past 10 series. If you need your
own chocolate inspiration,

HELP CULTIVATE LITTLE
GREEN FINGERS
Do you grow food in a school or youth
group? From 7-13 October The Royal
Horticultural Society’s Big Soup Share
invites you to cook up your crops to share
with the local community as part of the
RHS’s Campaign for School Gardening.
The initiative encourages more teachers
to grow food on school grounds, giving
children the chance to learn about healthy
eating and where food comes from.
For more information on gardening with
children and resources for organising
your own Big Soup Share event, visit
