WHY IT’S GREAT
If you cancelled your big summer
hol abroad this year, how about
treating yourself to a quick hit of
luxury in the heart of England?
Hampton Manor, set in 45 acres in
the village of Hampton-in-Arden
on the Warwickshire borders, has

fruit and veg that supply the

restaurants. You’ll dine there in

outbuilding, or in one of the
revamped vintage greenhouses
adjacent to it, with lots of space.
The food is hearty-meaty – think
groan-inducing 12-hour beef
brisket finished in the smoker, with
heritage beetroot and crusty-chewy
homemade sourdough. Afterwards,
warm yourself by the firepits and
toast some marshmallows.
The Michelin-starred Peel’s
restaurant in the main house is
the setting for Saturday night’s
four-course set menu. It’s exciting
food, going big on extracting the
flavour from a key ingredient rather
