I found your tips on using the

freezer useful [Oct, p45], especially

as I could pat myself on the back

for doing things pretty well already!

One extra thing, to be on the ball,

is to keep an inventory of what’s in

the freezer, including when it was

put in and where. I’ve been doing

this for several years and it works

a treat. I have different pages for

veg, meat, fish and baked treats

and always know what needs

using first, as it’s higher up the

page (with a date alongside for

good measure). It’s so simple to

do, even if it sounds a tad nerdy!

SUBJECT: delicious. COMPETITION

My father-in-law Bob has had a

subscription to delicious. for some

time and I’ve always thoroughly

enjoyed the recipes he cooks from

it. I decided to start a subscription

myself and, with that, our monthly

‘delicious. magazine cook-off’

began. We chose a recipe from the

October issue, lamb meatball

biryani [p82], and each cooked it

with points awarded by our critics

(our respective dinner companions).

We all agreed it was super tasty and

the scoring ended up quite even,

but I think I just edged it! Thank

you for bringing a little fun to my

family during these times.
