GENERAL INFORMATION

This swap has two problem areas.

No. 1: Oil pan/cross-member interference. A

Bronco oil pan can be used or instructions are

included for modifying your stock oil pan.

No. 2: Lack of clearance around the steering and

exhaust. It is hard to use power steering boxes

without fender well headers. Stock steering

just clears. The oil filter is acceptable if a short

filter is used. No firewall modification needed.

Some clearance must be done inside the

X-center to allow room for the transmission.

WISHBONE MOUNTING KIT

This bolt-on wishbone mounting kit can be added to

provide clearance for C-4 and manual shift transmissions.

These transmissions do not need extra clearance to the

side, but do need a drop for clearance below. This kit

provides the needed clearance without splitting the

wishbone. Use only with C-4 and stick transmissions. Can

also be welded.

TRANS MOUNTING KITS FOR SB FORD V8

Mounting kits are bolt-on style. Welding is required on models

using a split wishbone. Before ordering, determine which

frame type you have.

Type I Cross-member center is riveted to the X-rails.

Type II Cross-member is a welded unit. We are referring to the

box where the X-rails meet.

Note: Larger automatics require extra clearance in center of X.

Use C-4 if possible.
