The grille is much more than just a pretty face. It has other components that never seem
to be there but they are very necessary for form and function.

We hope to clear up a little of the mystery surrounding the radiator shell apron



  • Ford Part Number 8240.


The first thing is that they are all black so they blend in with the radiator and do not
detract from the grille.

APRON RADIATOR SHELL

1933-1934 PASSENGER

Bolts in the bottom of the grille with the fenders and forms a
scoop to direct the air into the radiator. It has a tunnel and a
slot for the wind-up crank.

NOTE: We make this as a smooth style without the crank

1935 PASSENGER
By ’35 grilles were getting bigger and so was the panel.
Louvers were added to aid in aerodynamics and give a
little air to the bottom of the engine.
