FlorenceandVenice,andthereis somethingaboutItalywhich
alwayslingers.I’llneverforgetthelastdaymyhusbandandI spent
in Florence.Havingspenthourswalkingin theBoboliGardens,we
weretiredandhungryandendedupat a littleoutdoorscafeand
justsaid,“Feedus,please!”Thethoughtfulwaiterproducedhuge
platesofspaghettibolognese,andwesatin thewarmsunshinein
completebliss.EveryFridayeveningwhenmygrandsoncomes
overtowatchthefooty,healwaysasksfora pastadish,and
MattPreston’slasagnerecipe(I’mLoving,p 50)is nowon

myowntouch,andmostofthedishesendeduponmyInstagramaccount.OnceI hadfinished
mycookingadventureI daydreamedofa triptoPortland(CityGuide,p 138)andwas
transportedtotheHimalayas(Chef’sJourney,p 144) in one of the best travel sections I have
