lovetoeatit afterdinnerwithsomeLebaneseflatbread.
Theflavoursherearesofamiliartome– I lovethenuttinessofthetahini,thecrunch
ofthepistachiosandtheslighthintofsaltthatbringsalltheseflavourstolife.When
I wasa kid,mygrandmotherwouldmakefreshsajbread(traditionalunleavened
Lebanesebread)andsandwicha crumblyhalvain themiddlewhilethebreadwas
stillwarm.I stillremember the oozy halva dripping down my arm as the hot bread
meltedit.Purebliss!
