aswellashandingthemouttopeopleinthestreetinSydneyand
Melbourne,HopeDeliveryhassharedmorethan200,000mealssince
it launched– andis stillgoingstrong.AsPerrytoldGTinSeptember:
“Arestaurantbelongstothecommunity,andpartofbeingin a community
is takingcareofpeoplewhoarelessprivileged.”Perryhascertainly
steppeduptothemark,bothmanningthepanstocookforHopeDelivery

hospoworkerswholosttheirjobsorwerefacing
drasticallyreducedhours,andwereineligiblefor
Governmentassistance.Bycorallinga groupof
like-mindedsponsors,OpenKitchenhasbeenable
tosupplyfreevegetarianmealstwicea weeksince
Mayusinganinnovativeticketingsystemwith
allocated collection times to ensure social distancing.
